Layering

Its easy to forget about what goes beneath the surface or you might have an established garden and it might not be attainable but in the fall and early spring bulbs & tubers are the foundation to my garden design.

Having this approach also does something else it becomes a lesson in patience and planning. I obtain the plants I am interested in but I cant put them in the ground I let them accumulate. I look at their surroundings and how they react to the environment/micro climate in the places I think they might go. 75% of the time they will go in that spot, but when they don't I appreciate that lag and time to think and sometimes find something that HAS to go in that spot.
